To emulate the original features of timber heritage sash windows, we can fit lead and cord counterbalances. The sash cord is fitted over the pulley wheel and holds the weights which are hung in pockets inside the timber linings at the sides of the window. When the window is open it is balanced by the counterweight. This operating system is available on both single and double hung framed windows.
This is a more modern type of opening and closing mechanism. This system comprises of a spiral rod and spring which are housed inside a tube. The spring-loaded component counterbalances the window to keep it open. Smooth operation is achieved by perfecting the weight and tension.
We offer a fantastic range of options to personalise your new windows. Choose from a selection of sash lifts and fasteners in a selection of classic finishes.
